Golden Globes 2013 – Red Carpet Winners

16 01 2013

So, what did we make of the Golden Globes this year? From what I’ve seen there’s a lot of mixed reactions when it comes to the dresses. Some left me baffled, quite frankly. Too many deep, deep v’s and knicker high splits. Like, weren’t we all making fun on Angelina’s leg last year? And now, everyone is doing it. I do not understand! The Globes fashion has let me down, but I did manage to find a few looks that I liked.

The Top 3…..

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence

Jessica Alba

Naomi Watts

Claire Danes

Kate Hudson

Nicole Richie

The Ugly…..

Halle Berry

All in all, too much boob, too much leg, too much dark lipsticks and not enough good risk taking. I am eagerly awaiting the Oscars Red Carpet. Let’s see if my top three will get it right again.

What do you guys think??!

The Golden Globes 2012

16 01 2012

Well, what can I say?! This is gonna be short and sweet – due to the lack of inspirational outfits on this year’s red carpet. Is it just me? Am I the only person out there who found the style boring and PALE?! So freakin’ pale and bride-like. There was no contest with my winner. She stood out a mile for me. I kept comparing everyone else to her. I hope you don’t find my choices too predictable, but in a sea of red carpet bores, here are the FEW that excited me!

The Winner - Claire Danes in J Mendel

Emma Stone - Lanvin

Sofia Vergara - Vera Wang

Jessica Biel - Ellie Saab

And that’s it! That’s all I’m posting. My top three, and a special mention to Jessica Biel. Though pale and bride-like, you can’t deny it’s beauty. I’m also going to mention Angelina Jolie. It was her make up that won me over. A beautiful red pout to match her dress. She’s gorgeous! There were a few others I liked, like Mila Kunis and Jessica Alba in a beautiful, figure hugging Gucci, but overall, I felt let down by the style this year. Maybe they are luring us into a false sense of security for the Oscars. I, for one, am definitely hoping for a lot more POW on that carpet!

Who have I missed? Am I forgetting your favourite? Who stole the show for you?!

A Hair-y Situation!

24 03 2011

Grrrrr! Shouldn’t going to the hairdresser be relaxing?! Oh nightmare scenario guys. Spent 3 hours, and 150 euro, and all my best chit-chat yesterday at my hairdressers, only to come home, wash my hair and cry and moan to my sister. It was not good! The colour was wrong, the cut was not what I asked for and the blow dry?! Oh god, the poof would give Snooki a run for her money. Leaving the hairdressers I was tempted to wrap a scarf around my head and run the whole way to the car. Being honest, I never really enjoy a trip to the hairdresser. I’m too fussy and it normally takes me a bit of time to adjust and get a handle on it myself. I’m lucky that I have very obedient hair – it normally does what its told. As I’ve mentioned a few times now, I’ve my brothers wedding coming up (3 weeks tomorrow!!!) so it was really important to me that my hair was right. I even left enough adjusting time! But alas, I can’t shake this feeling so I’m going back to the hairdresser tomorrow to lighten it up. The poof has washed out and the cut should be fine (though I’m not quite sure what to do with this little side fringe thing that’s going on….). As long as the colour is good, and its lengthy enough for the upstyle Iwant, I’ll b happy.

Bringing me to my next point! Upstyles, not something I would go for normally. I’m very fond of my wavy hair! I’ve been googling a few options, and checking magazines. Cos, the morning of the wedding, I do not wanna be having another meltdown like the one yesterday!! Here’s some casual up looks I like so far.

(You knew she'd have to be in here somewhere, right?!)
