Golden Globes 2013 – Red Carpet Winners

16 01 2013

So, what did we make of the Golden Globes this year? From what I’ve seen there’s a lot of mixed reactions when it comes to the dresses. Some left me baffled, quite frankly. Too many deep, deep v’s and knicker high splits. Like, weren’t we all making fun on Angelina’s leg last year? And now, everyone is doing it. I do not understand! The Globes fashion has let me down, but I did manage to find a few looks that I liked.

The Top 3…..

Jennifer Lawrence

All in all, too much boob, too much leg, too much dark lipsticks and not enough good risk taking. I am eagerly awaiting the Oscars Red Carpet. Let’s see if my top three will get it right again.

What do you guys think??!

New In

26 07 2012

Life is good in Frankfurt – and so is the shopping. For those of you who don’t know, I am staying with my sister while I have Summer off work. When I’m not sunbathing, or taking long walks in the park, or having cocktails, I am shopping. Trying not to get too carried away though and looking for pieces that I think will get good use. I’m mainly loving the H&M here (there’s quite a few) and Urban Outfitters. Here’s some pics – let’s see what you think!

Blake does it best

27 06 2012

The girl can do no wrong – Blake Lively, spotted wearing very similar outfits but looking extremely good in both! She’s been on the red carpet a lot this week due to her new movie and I love it. I love seeing her in the news. Both her casual and dressy looks are looks to be emulated. No wonder she’s the face of many a campaign. Keep the outfits coming, Blake!

And, a round of applause for those Louboutins please!

ASOS does McCartney

16 08 2011

Isn’t this dress right from the catwalk?! Stella McCartney Polka Dot dress is making its way into the high street and I quite like Asos’s take on the look. I think it’s gonna be a big hit for the upcoming Autumn.

Not bad ASOS, keep up the great work! I will be giving into temptation soon and making all these purchases! 🙂

Spotted….

1 04 2011

Two amazing girls – some killer outfits. Blake Lively and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at the CinemaCon Awards. I don’t think too many people care about the awards that were won by the girls, not when they are wearing such amazing dresses!!

Blake wore an amazing Marchesa frock, with tonnes of ruffles and mesh detailing – sexy! She also wore a white lace Dolce and Gabbana dress and bootie for the CinemaCon luncheon. I love the booties! Rosie’s black silk crepe and chiffon gown by Kevork Kiledjian is stunning! Strapless, and sheer to the floor – sexy and demure.

Loving your work, ladies. And by work, I mean fashion, and absolutely not your movies…..

Confessions of a Shopaholic #3

7 03 2011

It’s been a very long time since I posted about shopping – but don’t be fooled. This does not mean I haven’t been shopping! No, no, no! I’ve just been neglecting to post about it. You see I haven’t found anything I’m incredibly impressed by. But….. those of you who follow me on Twitter (@Siobhey) will know I was treated to a little shopping spree when I went to visit my folks not so long ago. Mayo certainly isn’t famous for its shopping so bear with me. I headed straight for New Look, which is a shop I like anyway, and let my parents credit card do the magic for me! I picked out a few key pieces that suit my style and events I have coming up.

It’s just not possible to begin Spring without a pair of shorts. I love this colour and they are slightly high-waisted and feel great.

This dress is so cute – the design and colour caught my attention straight away and I am a nutter for skinny tan belts!

A colour-block dress. I can see myself running around in this with little pumps and a cardi, at work and at the weekends.

A ladder knit top – its cropped and cute. So far I’ve paired it with my jeans but Im looking forward to mixing it up soon.

This is my personal favourite. It’s a leopard Parka. Very light, I must tell you. Ireland is just not warm enough yet. But when I saw it, I kinda had a vision. This parka is gonna be one of my Festival Essentials. Very soon Festival Season will start, and I, for one, can’t wait! This May bank holiday, I’m kicking it off by wearing this parka with my red wellies and denim shorts. It made me very happy inside so I simply had to have it!

Are you guys excited for the Festivals? What’s your essential clothing?

This post is all based on New Look purchases, so I need to do another pretty soon. Good news, guys! I bought my dress for my brother’s wedding and am now working on the accessories. Pretty excited about the bespoke fascinator that’s coming my way too!! I’ll keep you posted!

Also, I want to say thanks to all those who check in with me here. I just started this up as a little project but I really enjoy it now, and today I am celebrating the hits I have received over the last few weeks. So thanks to you all!
