2013 is off to a great start! Besides from the relentless bad weather, there has been much to make me smile. Here’s a quick synopsis for you!

The Movie: Les Miserables – what a tear jerker! Loved every second of it and am head over heels for Marius (Eddie Redmayne)

The Girl: Jennifer Lawrence – The girl certainly is ‘on fire’ these days. Her movie and her gowns promoting said movie have been flawless. Plus, she’s funny and her speeches are sweet. Simply Love Her.

The Song: Pompeii, Bastille – simply a great tune!

The book: Gone Girl – a real page turner.

The Blogger(s) – Sincerely, Jules and This Chick’s Got Style making me green with envy with every post!

The Breakfast: Hatch and Sons – a great little place I had breakfast last Sunday!

The Place: Brick Lane – had a fab weekend in London at the end of January and fell in love with this place. The bustle, the food and the art all helped create such a buzz. I found it so difficult to tear myself away. Feeling some serious London Love at the min!

The Shows: NYFW – Prabal Gurung, Jason Wu and Rebecca Minkoff made me excited for Fall!

Teen Choice Awards 2012 – Top 3

29 07 2012

So the teen choice awards happened not so long ago. It’s an award show I like a lot actually. For once, our young stars act their age instead of wearing clothes much too old for them. You can be sure to see lots of leg at this ceremony – and I like it! There was tough competition this year for the Number One spot. In the end I had to go with the outfit I would most like to wear myself. Here are my top three ladies…. some controversy may occur…..

So, who do we have here?!

1. Nikki Reed who wore a Contrarian New York top and skirt, Brian Atwood shoes and a Jimmy Choo clutch. A special mention for her AWESOME pony tail. I love it!

2. Taylor Swift wore a Maria Lucia Hohan dress with Prada Shoes and Edie Parker clutch. Taylor doing what she does best (apart from singing!), the sweet girly look.

3. Holland Roden from Teen Wolf wearing Alive + Olivia. Holland just made 3rd position – I just liked how she kept it young and true to herself.

Due to recent happenings, my previous 3rd place winner got knocked back a spot. Kristen Stewart. What can one say about her at the moment! Regardless, that Roberto Cavalli blazer deserves a mention. This casual chic look is one I go for a lot. I just try wearing a smile while doing it! Maybe she knew what was in the pipeline for her…..

So, what do you guys think? Did anyone else blow you away?!

‘A Little Something’ ….

7 04 2011

For years now I have been in love with an Irish singer – Declan O’Rourke. I will never forget the first time I heard his amazing voice. It only seems like yesterday, sitting on a rooftop terrace with some really close friends, enjoying a sunny afternoon with music and beers! It was love. An obsession began right then and there. Since then, I’ve been to as many of his gigs as possible as I just love to hear him live. And he’s funny and very poetic too. His band is great, sometimes just two ladies on cello and violin, and depending on the venue, a bigger band. It’s been a long wait, but I can happily say that his new album is out tomorrow and I, for one, am so excited! I’m familiar with three of the songs only, but they are crackers! Here’s a little taster for you guys!

Go and support some amazing talent!

Baby, you can drive my car….

25 03 2011

After my hair appointment today, I’m hitting the road for a relaxing weekend at home in lovely Mayo. I strangely look forward to the 3 hour drive that lies ahead of me. Sometimes, there is nothing better than heading off in the car on a sunny day, espesh when you have the right music with you. Also, it’s probably the only three hours in the week that I have to myself and to my thoughts, and more importantly, sing at the top of my lungs!! I suppose I have a bit of a car playlist, there are definitely some songs that you can be guaranteed to hear on the journey. Thought I’d share my precious three hours with you!…

James Vincent Mc Morrow – We don’t eat

Ray Lamontagne – Jolene

Ellie Goulding – Lights

The Naked and Famous – Young Blood

Miike Snow – Animal

Two Door Cinema Club – What you know

Jack Penate – Be the one

Vampire Weekend – Oxford Comma

Anthony Furey and The Young Folk – Way down south

Bombay Bicycle Club – Always like this

Athlete – Wild Wolves

John Mayer – Free Fallin’

Paolo Nutini – Candy

I could go on forever, but these are the essential tunes! Tempted to come with me?! Bet you are!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Have a listen to this!

8 02 2011

Ok guys, I’ve been having a rough couple of days of it. So much going on and my mind is going mad! So, in efforts to cheer myself up, I’ve turned to some fool-proof ideas.

  1. Shopping – let’s face it, a new outfit makes every day better and helps you face anything!
  2. Friends – I’ve the best friends in the world.
  3. Music – preferably live music!

Which is what I’m blogging about today. Just booked myself some tickets to see an amazing Irish artist play in a Dublin Church. I’ve been catching James Vincent Mc Morrow as often as I can as I just adore to hear this guy sing. What a voice and what great songs. If you’ve never heard of this guy, check him out! Quite Bon Iver like, perfect easy listening and seriously mesmerizing! LOVE IT!

Hope you enjoy the easy listening – he’s certainly improved my day!
